May 29, 2010 ,Lake Odessa, MI.  -- Zach Olger in UMP late models and Travis Stemler in UMP Mods, Gary Vandermark, UMP stock cars, Dan Reimersma, I-96 four cylinders were all featurewinners Saturday night at I-96 Speedway. The night also featured school bus races, and kid’s card board races.

In UMP stock car feature, Chad Weinrick jumped into the early lead. Lap three Ed Falbe took over the top spot. Early leader Weinrick dropped out during a lap five yellow. Once back underway, Gary Vandermark passed Falbe during the 13th lap and held on for the win. Falbe, Aaron Wolf, Hilary Smith rounded out the top five. Weinrick took the heat win.

4 Cylinders action saw Dan Reimersma take the early lead. During lap nine, Terry HendersonJr. rolled his car off of turn four. Henderson was ok. Backunder green flag racing and a good battle for second between Scott Rumsey and Paul Namey. Namey took the position and went after Reimersma, but could not catch him. Reimersma took the win, Namey was second,and Rumsey followed. Heats were taken by Reimersma and Rumsey. The win was the third in a row for Dan.

UMP Modified feature found Tim Stemler and Zach Olger bring a strong 18 car field to thegreen flag. Mark Anderson jumped into the lead.  Rich Robinson Jr., from the fourth starting spot, powered by Anderson on the outside to take the lead.  During a lap four restart, something broke on second place running Anderson, and he retired for the night. Back under green, and a great battle between Robinson, Olger, Guinn and Feutz. 

Olger takes over during the eighth lap. Lap 15 Travis Stemler, who started ninth, took over second and set his sight on the leader Olger. From lap 15-17, it was a side by side battle with Olger, Stemler on the low side and Zach on the high side with Stemler making the pass on lap 18. Then Stemler than was able to put some distance between himself and the rest of the field. Olger finished second, Robinson, Guinn, Feutz, Ehlert, and Justin Fleming followed.

The Ump Late Models hit the track, and after a nice looking four wide salute to the fans, John Graga and Scott Ehlert brought the 19 car field to the green. Graga was using a new Mopar Spec engine for the first time.  Eric Spangler took the early lead from his second row starting spot.  

During the 13th lap, Olger used the bottom side to make the pass for the lead from his eighth starting spot.  Lap 16 was the downfall for Spangler as he drifted high in turn four and lost five positions.  Olger held on for the win over Roger Wing, Scott Ehlert, Mike Nugent and Bill Bray were the top five.

For all of our motorcycle fans, this Friday night the District 14 riders will be racing on the ½ mile track. Over 100 riders are expected including several female racers. Just $5.00 gets you into watch.

This Saturday night June 7, will be four cylinder night, and spectator drags.
