UMP Summer Nationals Stop at I-96

Odessa, MI. Tuesday night June 29, I-96 Speedway is pleased to host stop number
16 of the UMP Summer Nationals tour. The series is a grueling 32 days of racing,
at 28 different tracks, in 8 different states, featuring UMP 750 horse powered
late models.
Some
of the drivers expected to do battle on the ½ mile track for the $5,000 to win
40 lap feature include; current Summer Nationals point leader and the last
Summer Nationals winner at I-96, Shannon Babb from Moweaqua, ILL., defending and
three time SN champ Dennis Erb out of Carpentersville, ILL., former Lucas Oil
Series rookie of the year, Pinconning MI. racer Jeep VanWormer.
Defending UMP late model national champion Jason Feger racing out
of Bloomington, ILL., is also expected, as well as current National point leader
Rusty Schlenk from Jackson MI. Add drivers such as 2 time ALMS champ Brian
Ruhlman from Clark Lake, Ryan Unzicker, El Paso, ILL., Wendell Wallace,
Batesville ARK., Curtis Roberts, Coleman, MI., and Brandon Thirlby, Traverse
City, MI., as well as the regular I-96 Speedway racers, and you have formula for
a great night of action.
Also
racing will be the UMP modifieds and well as the I-96 four cylinders.
Gates
open at noon, with the first green flag set to go at 7pm.
