Kenny Wallace First I-96 Summer National Entry

Lake Odessa MI- NASCAR Nationwide driver and SPEED Channel TV talent Kenny Wallace has entered the June 29 UMP Summer National event at I-96 Speedway. Wallace, who has competed at the Lake Odessa oval on several occasions, will be competing against some of the toughest competition in the country as the best dirt late model drivers will be competing for the prestigious UMP Summer Nationals crown.
Wallace last competed at I-96 on August 15, 2010 in an UMP modified car and came from a back of the pack restart to capture the 20 lap main event in front of a hugely enthusiastic crowd.  The I-96 Speedway half-mile oval will host this event, making this the only appearance of the UMP Late Models on the high speed oval.

A field of competitors from nearly a dozen states will fight for the highest paying purse for late models in 2010 at I-96. The last appearance of the UMP Summer Nationals tour at I-96 Speedway was in 2006 and Shannon Babb captured that race.
Wallace, the St. Louis Missouri native is competing on the NASCAR Nationwide circuit in 2010 while continuing to make as many appearances at dirt ovals throughout the country in both UMP late models and modifieds as his schedule allows. Wallace has stated that he loves competing on the I-96 Speedway half-mile and looks forward to meeting his many Michigan fans on this special Tuesday night event.
